An Orthotic is a shoe insert that supports the abnormal movement of the foot, providing cushion and comfort. Those experiencing constant foot pain in the arch or heel require a quality orthotic tailored to support the foot. At Trend Physio, all foot orthotics are custom-made specifically for each foot and are not over-the-counter arch supports.
To get the perfect orthotic for your needs, Trend Physio will use cutting-edge 3D scanning technology alongside a detailed foot biomechanical exam and gait analysis. This will allow precise orthotic support to ensure alignment of your foot while you move.
At Trend Physio, our therapist may recommend custom orthotics for many health conditions, including:
What is the difference between custom-made orthotics and orthotics I can find at a drug store?
Various stores have several different types of off-the-shelf orthotics that claim to help correct foot issues. These ready-made insoles are made to fit everyone and are sized according to standard shoe sizes. A custom-made orthotic is made to specifically address your biomechanical issues and correct your gait where needed.
Will my orthotics be covered under my Extended Health Plan [EHP]?
Most EHP's provide coverage for orthotics. If you are unsure about your coverage, feel free to stop by any of our clinics and our exceptionally skilled receptionists can assist you.
Will I need a note from a general practitioner to ensure my claim is approved?
A doctor's prescription will be required for your claim to be approved by your EHP.
